Excursion to Sounio and guided tour of the temple of Poseidon

Departing for a 5-hour excursion to Sounio, all you have to do is relax and enjoy the view of the rocky shores that we will meet on our way, crossing the areas of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Lagonisi and Saronida.

Arriving in Sounio is not difficult to see the magnificent temple of Poseidon, who built in 444 BC from marble, on a 60-meter-high cliff above the sea. At the base of a column of the temple is engraved the name of the English poet, Lord Byron, who was a Philhellene. On a lower hill, next to it, is the temple of Athena. Sounio was fortified during the Peloponnesian War.

After our visit to the archaeological site, a meal will follow in a traditional tavern of the area. Then, before returning to Athens, we will make a stop at Lake Vouliagmeni. The lake has spa features, with its temperature ranging from 22 to 29 degrees Celsius. Its natural beauty, vegetation and blue waters will give you peace of mind before we return to the capital.
